The EU plans to "close the net early": Low-priced Chinese small packages will be subject to taxation.

EU finance ministers have agreed to impose tariffs on low-priced small packages entering the EU ahead of schedule. The implementation is set to begin no later than 2026. 

The target is directly aimed at Chinese cross-border e-commerce platforms, such as Shein and Temu, by eliminating small-scale tax exemptions and accelerating the collection process, in order to combat the impact of "cheap fast fashion" and low-priced groceries. 

Impact:
